Public transport
Public transportation system is well developed in our city as in many other Russian cities. Most part of citizens have to use public transport every day. Public transport is rather clean and cheap (ticket costs 18 rubles=$0.65 and doesn't depend on the distance).

Buses (see the scheme) are the main city transport. There are about 40 routes connecting all parts of the city.

Trams (see the scheme) are less reliable city transport due to possible car accident on its path. Sometimes it happens. It is also rather noisy. In rush hours it's faster than a bus because buses are stuck in traffic jams.

Trolleybuses (see the scheme) are rather reliable. They use electricity as power supply but wheels as a bus. Trolleybuses can be very fast if traffic is not big. The trolley-bus week point is the frost. In winter, when the temperature is sometimes -25 C and lower, they all can stop.

Route taxi (yello mini-vans) and private mini-buses are the fastest public transport in Ekaterinburg. They usually drive 13-20 people and go on a busy route connecting distinct parts of the city with the city center. Ticket price 18 rubles=$0.65.

Ekaterinburg underground has only one line (7 stations with 2 more to be opened late 2011). It connects distinct part of the city Uralmash with city center (Circus area) and follow north-south.
